Getting Ready Photos (all you need to know)

September 19, 2021

Getting ready for photos is all you need to know!

The number one thing we hear when meeting with brides is that they want to get ready photos. You know those cute ones you see where the girls are in robes drinking mimosas, yes those! Let me clue you in though, those happen when your hair & makeup is 90% done.

Here are a few tips for you:

  1. Request the artists get you ready at least 2 to 3 hours before the ceremony. That allows time for photos but you also don’t have to rush. If you have a large wedding party, you will likely need several artists. Depending on venue access that plays a role as well. Got questions? Reach out to us and lets chat!
  2. Order robes/pjs or something easy for the girls to wear on the wedding day. Something that allows them to get dressed easily without messing up their face.
  3. If you have groomsmen gifts (ties, socks, etc) we suggest giving them out the morning of. We always have extra dress socks with us but giving them out on the wedding day ensures nothing is left behind.

Check out some of our favorite photos below:

Robes & PJs – they are not only great for pictures but also easy to get over your head and not mess up the hair and makeup. Add in confetti & you’ve got the below picture!

Getting into your wedding dress! We always recommend your mother or whoever is helping you into your dress be dressed beforehand. The photographer usually steps out and returns when the dress is ready to be zipped, such a special moment to capture!

We can’t forget the guys:

If your venue has a cool groom’s room, or they are doing something fun before they get dressed, ask the photographer to get that as well.
