What is a Unity Ceremony?
A unity ceremony is a symbolic ritual woven into the wedding ceremony.

A Unity Candle Ceremony is when a couple each take a lit candle and simultaneously light what is known as the “unity candle”. This symbolizes them joining together as a family. Oftentimes the mothers or parents of the couple are the first to light each candle and then the couple lights theirs together.

Beer Unity Ceremony. The groom was very into home brewing, so he brewed the beer himself.
A letter inside a wooden box and you put two nails in it. Grab the hammer, this was a fun one! The couple got to open it on their 1 year Anniversary.
Unity Plant/Tree. This ceremony symbolizes the roots of their relationship and the continued growth of their love.
Family Unity. Something that incorporates the kiddos! We have seen puzzles like below but also a small lego set that the family put together!
