What to do if it rains on your wedding day?

What to do if it rains on your wedding day?

Alex & Adam were set to get married at the Dallas Arboretum and The Artisan in downtown. The reason they picked the wedding location was due to the rooftop terrace. Mother Nature had another plan for them on the wedding day

Things to consider if it rains on your wedding day:

  1. Have a backup plan: Discussing plan B with your planner and venue beforehand is a huge stress relief.
  2. Stay Positive: Weather is outside of your control and focus on who you are meeting at the end of the aisle.
  3. Invest in Umbrellas: We are a huge fan of wedding photos with clear or white umbrellas. They can often be ordered online!
  4. Adjust the timeline: In Texas the weather if often changing by the minute, be flexible with your timeline. If something needs to be pushed forward or behind 15 minutes due to weather, go with the flow.
  5. Think about lighting: Oftentimes, rain comes with darker clouds and less sunlight. Speak with the venue, DJ, and photographer about reception lighting.
  6. Talk to your photographer: A professional photographer will know how to make the best of rainy conditions. Allow them to take the lead and trust their expertise.
  7. Inform Guests: Post to your website so guests can dress accordingly and come prepared.

Planner Tip: Perfume is such a great addition to your details photo, adds a feminine touch! Not to mention, whenever you where it you can think of your wedding day.

Couple:

Such a sweet moment for these two pre ceremony. We always love incorporating vows, letters, gifts or anything special into the first look photos!

Ceremony:

Rain held off long enough for the couple to get married outside at the Dallas Arboretum. This is the most stunning ceremony backdrop, especially in the Spring when the flowers are blooming and the trees are so full!

Reception:

Selecting a venue for the Rooftop Terrace and having to move to plan B isn’t ever our goal. However with a planner and all our industry knowledge it makes the transition so much easier on the couple.
